For over 25 years, Hope Pregnancy & Adoption Services Society has provided services to women and men facing unplanned pregnancies and to those hoping to build their families through adoption. We have weathered many low financial times before, but are now unable to meet our financial obligations. We were in discussions with another larger organization to see if they could provide an umbrella under which we could continue, but that was not to be.
The staff and board of Hope Pregnancy & Adoption Services have worked hard to try and maintain services to families. We are aware that this is difficult news to hear and we regret having to inform you of this situation. It is not one that we or anyone else expected to be facing. We are committed to attempting to find solutions for families given our limited resources.
Accordingly, we have notified the Provincial Director of Adoption under the appropriate regulation that we are unable to continue operating, and her office will be assisting us in making an orderly completion or transition of existing files. The Ministry of Children and Family Development, adoption services unit will be working closely with the agency: 250-387-3660.
Regrettably, our support staff has been laid off and we will not be able to field phone calls. We will do our best to provide updates on our website:
www.hopeadopt.org and will communicate with individual clients as the process unfolds. Contact may be made via email at
adoption@hopeaodpt.org however; responses may be limited due to the lack of staff support.
Sincerely,
Hope Services Board & Staff
