SAFE Baby Training Opportunity
The Adoptive Families Association of BC, the Ministry of Children and Family Development, and BC’s licensed adoption agencies, are pleased to announce a new specialized education program that specifically meets the needs of people considering the adoption of a substance exposed infant.
Liberia
As of May 1, 2008, BC's licensed adoption agencies are not permitted to facilitate adoptions in Liberia.
United States
The United States implemented the Hague Convention on Intercountry Adoption on April 1, 2008.
Children's Education Fund * NEW *
Starting January 2007, the Province is investing $1000 in the Children's Education Fund for every child born or adopted in BC after January 1, 2007.
Infertility During the Holidays
I have great respect for the writings and wise counsel that Russell Webb brings to the adoption community. 'Dealing With Infertility in the Holiday Season' is written with understanding balanced with good advice for those who are yet to be blessed with children.
Russ and his wife, Tina, have adopted two sons with through Hope Adoption Services. Their family has ongoing contact with their boys' birth families.
Russ & Tina have walked out the tough journey of infertility and on to adoption. Their hearts are with ours (Hope staff) in wishing you peace and strength as you rejoice in the 'reason for the season'.
